Before sundown: Morito coast (Hayama)

A little before sundown, the azure sky above the distant horizon is subtly tinted with many shades of flaming colors.

The clusters of sparkling clouds are drifting high across the sky like a phoenix that has just revived from the ashes.

Soon the darkness of night will embrace this glorious seascape completely and the shining immortal bird will slowly fly away to the other shore.

The evening twilight: Morito coast (Hayama)

In the pale vermilion glow of evening twilight, two girls, who hold their kick-scooters, are going back home from the seawall after short girl talk.

A beam from the lighthouse, which has started just now, is telling them of the coming on of a quiet moonlit night.

The setting sun: Morito coast (Hayama)

The setting sun is slowly disappearing beyond the far horizon.

The sky and clouds are colored exquisitely with the pale cinnabar sunlight.

Waves are calmly heaving with their tender sound in the gentle evening glow.

A flight of seabirds are silently returning to their home.

For a moment, the eternity of the sea shows itself secretly before my eyes.

A seascape from Morito-coast (Hayama)

The silver rays of the declining sun are pouring down through rifts in the mottled clouds to softly illuminate the calm surface of the sea.

The dark silhouettes of rocks, a island and a peninsula are adorning the subtle beauty of this seascape of serenity.

Morito coast is located beside "Hayama-machi" in Miura District, Kanagawa Prefecture. This coastal area is situated at the northern end of Miura Peninsula and facing Sagami Bay on the Pacific Ocean. I often visit this tranquil coast to enjoy its peaceful and boundless scenery.

Just after a long spell of rainy weather, the bright azure sky of summer showed itself radiantly together with an infinity of snow-white clouds.

A seascape from Morito-coast (Hayama)

The thin beams of light from the dazzling sun are spreading through the low clouds into the violet evening sky.

The sparkling reflection of the sun is rippling gently on the pacific surface of the endless sea.

In the stillness of the evening calm, the quiet surface of the sea softly illuminated by the setting sun reminded me of the eternity for some time before dark.

A calm sea: Morito coast (Hayama)

The declining sun is silvering the calm sea surface brightly. The deep steel blue of the cloudy sky is spreading itself far beyond the horizon.

The small torii is standing on the rock reef to represent the gateway to the sacred place for ritual purification.

A calm sea: Morito-coast (Hayama)

The thin rays of sunlight are penetrating the banks of clouds and softly brightening the smooth sea.

The sounds of gentle winds and waves are further heightening the boundless peacefulness of this seascape.

Calm twilight at Morito coast

Countless fleecy clouds are gently floating high up in the air. The evening sun has just sunk below the horizon.

The dim afterglow, which is a precious and transient gift from the setting sun, is subtly coloring the quiet sky violet and scarlet to let us sense the fineness of our universe at this very moment.

The waves are softly lapping the shore with pleasant sound as if to wash away the pain and distress of all living things in this peaceful twilight.
