Spring grove: Kencho-ji
As spring awakens, leaf buds of various
colors start coming out on bare branches to add elegant charms to a calm grove.

Bamboo grove: Jochi-ji
In the bright light of midsummer, a bamboo grove becomes most beautiful and full of life.
The subtle composition of its rigid trunks and vivid green blades discloses the particular life force that only this brilliant season can bring to us.
The upright bamboo trunks, each of which grows almost one node per day in summer, are taking on various colors like wild flowers.
Seasons are passing swiftly like the wind while leaving their own invaluable but transient pictures on our minds.

Bamboo grove: Kencho-ji
In the bright sunlight of late summer, a lazy hot wind is slowly shaking
the thick green leaves of the bamboo grove and making soft rustling sounds like
the murmuring of an invisible stream deep in the grove.
Like a constant crisp wind, seasons are flowing swiftly and relentlessly before my eyes, leaving the transient but precious visions of life in my mind.

Bamboo grove: Jochi-ji
A bamboo tree grows up rapidly at the speed of one joint per day in its full-scale growth period.
In the bright sun of May, the thin straight bodies and shiny green blades of bamboo trees give me the impression of esoteric life force, especially when the gentle wind keeps swaying them lightly to make a pleasant quiet sound.

Spring grove: Tokei-ji
These beautiful gradations of fresh green can only be seen in this time of year when the new leaves come out in abundance.

Bare branches: Tokei-ji
Above the bare branches of trees swaying to the north wind, the thick ash-gray clouds are drifting fast across the icy blue sky.
Winter is the season of endurance and austereness, during which all forms of life patiently prepare for their lively awakening in early spring.
