Sakura (cherry) blossoms: Tokei-ji

Like the pale pink fleecy clouds having descended from the serene sky, the countless blossoms of Yama-zakura (Prunus jamasakura) are adding enchanting nuances of colors to the gentle slopes of hills covered with the fresh green of spring.

In the quiet garden of this temple, the light-crimson blossoms of the old weeping cherry trees are floating still in midair above the patinated copper roofs.

The season of rebirth and regrowth is here again in its usual and joyous way to present brilliant flowers, young leaves and new lives, which spellbind us totally.
